The 9 To Shine – February 2021

Welcome to The 9 to Shine, our monthly blog series where we share some of our favourite jewels of wisdom for creating more balance, bliss and brilliance. Each month we curate a collection of 9 tried and tested tips, tool’s and to-do’s to help you and your life shine even brighter.
Here’s this month’s 9 to shine…

1. Try mirror work
Mirror work is the practice of looking directly at your reflection in the mirror, whilst simultaneously speaking loving words to or about yourself. These are often in the form of positive affirmations but can include compassionate conversation of any kind. You may wish to start without words and just try holding your own gaze for a few minutes, as this in itself can be a painful but very powerful exercise.
2. Take the Jewel of Life 10 Day Challenge
The Jewel of Life 10 day challenge is a great way to get started with the Jewel of Life self-growth system. It’s an easy to implement daily practice of alignment, affirmation, action and attitude to help you start creating more balance, bliss and brilliance within every facet of your life. Take the challenge here.
3. Work with Rose Quartz
Rose Quartz is a beautiful stone that helps to heal and open the heart chakra so that we can give and receive love more easily and more unconditionally. Because of its soft nature, this is a great stone to work with if you struggle with issues around self-love, compassion or emotional healing. It can help us to gently release past pain and heal old wounds that have stopped us from loving ourselves and experiencing a true sense of inner peace.
4. Journal prompt: What does it really mean to find balance, bliss and brilliance in the facet of Love & Romance?
The facet of Love & Romance is all about self-love and our romantic partnerships. Take time this month to journal and explore what it means to create harmony, happiness and fulfilment within this area of life.
5. Create your own guided visualisation audio
A guided visualisation audio is a prerecorded audio that guides you through your visualisation practice by offering ques. There are many pre-recorded ones but why not create your own. After all, they say that the most powerful voice is your own. Most smart phones and digital devices have an inbuilt microphone and voice recorder. Write your own script and hit record.
6. Affirmation: “I give myself permission to love without limits”
Spend a few minutes each day repeating the affirmation to yourself. As you say the words, notice any thoughts or feelings that come up for you. Become aware of how they make you feel in your mind, body and spirit. Allow yourself to explore how it feels and what it really means to love without limits.
*This affirmation was taken from the Permission Affirmation Card deck. Download your free printable copy here.
7. Write yourself a letter of love
A letter of love is a letter that is written with the purpose of inspiring or uplifting the recipient. Although, these can be written for others, we recommend also giving this loving gesture to yourself. It can be extremely powerful writing to ourselves in this way, and whether you need some self-compassion in the present, or want to give your future self something to thank you for, they are a great way to remind us that we matter and that we are loved. Read our blog post here with tips on how to write yours.
8. Cleanse your crystals with the element of air
Crystals pick up energy really easily and so it’s important to cleanse them on a regular basis to keep them high vibe. One of our favourite ways to cleanse them of negative energy is through the element of air. You can literally just place them outside and let the wind blow the energy away. Alternatively, if you prefer more of an indoor vibe, use the smoke from incense, herbs or resins.
9. Track your water intake
Our water consumption plays a vital role in our health and wellbeing, and although it is recommended that we drink around 2 litres a day, many people struggle to do so. Dehydration can manifest in many different ways, and very often we don’t realise that the symptoms we are experiencing are because we haven’t been drinking enough water. This month start tracking your water consumption to make sure that you are getting your recommended daily amount.
