If you are walking the Goddess path, then you no doubt have many dreams and #GoddessGoals that you want to fulfil, and obtaining success therefore is a natural part of your journey. Now for some, the concept of being successful and spiritual can feel a little uncomfortable, but the truth is, you can’t be truly aligned and not be a successful person.

The problem with success is that it is often used to describe accomplishments that are either material or status based. This means it becomes defined by what we have, as oppose to how we feel. Now that’s not to say that these things cannot give us pleasure or enhance our experience of life in some way, but they do not define our happiness or fulfilment, which is what success is really about.

To be truly successful is to live life in a way that is completely authentic to us and not by following a generic blueprint set by society. Of course our own version of success may well bare some resemblance to this, but it will still be a very individual thing to each one of us.

Unfortunately though, with so much external pressure of what we should and shouldn’t be aiming for in life, we don’t always tune into what it is we really want and instead take on the aspirations we are fed.

To make matters worse if we don’t obtain these things we can end up feeling like a failure, which isn’t true or helpful. Instead of trying to succeed in something that doesn’t resonate within, we need to learn to re-write our own stories for success to ones that genuinely make us feel great.

1. Create your new plot lines

The first step in the process is to redefine what success actually means to you. Look at the different facets of your life and ask yourself what would personally make you feel truly happy and fulfilled in each one.Think about how you want to feel and what is going to cultivate that feeling. Also, think about what is important to you and why. So often it is not about the goal itself but the motivation behind it.

2. Write your first draft

The next step is to create a success path to help you achieve success on your terms. As well as deciding on the individual steps you need to take, think about what tools or resources you’ll need. Although this is essentially your plan of action, it’s important to remember that it is not set in stone and as you work towards fulfilling your Goddess goals you will likely need to make adjustments along the way.

3. Underline your best bits

Don’t forget to identify your current successes and celebrate them! It’s so easy to focus on all of the things that we haven’t yet got and totally overlook all that we already have accomplished in our lives. You have so much to be proud of, Goddess and now that you have a clearer idea of what success really means you’ll see that you are already winning.

4. Edit out what is no longer needed

As you develop your success story it’s important to make sure it is concise, relevant and easy to follow. There may still be some outdated or irrelevant concepts of success you need to let go of, so keep checking back to make sure that it matches up to what you are trying to achieve. If it doesn’t, then don’t be afraid to hit the erase button.

5. Focus on the heroine

You are the star of your story so try to resist the urge to compare yourself to others. Success is an individual path and so it is pointless to try and compare yourself to anyone else. We are all on our own individual journeys and regardless of how similar your path may seem to others it will have its own unique twists and turns that will ultimately lead you to where you need to be.
