For most of us, work is a necessary part of life and something that provides us with a means to live. However, if we are lucky our jobs can give us with so much more. All work is a form of exchange, where we give our time, labour and expertise in return for money, but the right career can also give us a sense of pride, achievement, joy and even purpose.
Jobs can come in all forms and it’s important to mention that not everyone will want to have what is considered a ‘big successful career’. We are all different with our own values, desires and needs and whether you own your own business, are an employee, a stay at home parent or a carer your work is valid.
Regardless of what your job is it is important to feel satisfied and happy in this area, as it is where we spend a considerable amount of our time. So many people stay stuck in jobs they hate because they believe they can’t do anything else or will never have the opportunity to successfully pursue or excel in the career they want. Maybe you’ve always wanted to start your own business or embark on a completely new career path but feel it will never happen.
Although, finding work that we love can take work, it is not impossible like we sometimes believe. We just have to be open to what it really takes to get there. After all there is no such thing as an overnight success.
So Goddess, how do you feel about your current job? Does it provide you with the value (money or otherwise) that you desire? Is it your ideal job or do you have a dream business or career that you would love to pursue? If so what’s stopping you from taking the first steps? What could you be doing to improve your chances, opportunities or skills? If you’re not happy with your current job what could you be doing to make your current situation better?
