Honouring Your Values and Worth
A Core Practice for the Values Facet
Your values shape your choices.
They influence how you spend your time, where you direct your energy and what you accept or decline. When your actions align with your values, life feels steadier and more intentional. When they do not, tension builds quietly beneath the surface.
Within the Jewel of Life system, Values is one of twelve interconnected facets that support a balanced and conscious life. Each facet can be explored more deeply through the Reflect, Release, Renew, Ritual and Review framework. This structured approach allows you to move beyond abstract ideals and into lived alignment.
The following practice expands on the Values facet using the full 5R framework.
Reflect
Begin by clarifying what truly matters to you.
What principles guide your decisions?
Where in your life do you feel most aligned?
Where do you feel internal conflict or compromise?
What does โworthโ mean to you personally?
Reflection within this facet requires honesty. Many of us inherit values from family, culture or expectation. Some of these may still resonate. Others may no longer reflect who we are.
Notice where your behaviour matches your stated values and where it does not. There is no judgement here. Only information.
Release
Misalignment often shows up as overgiving, resentment or self-doubt.
Where are you accepting less than you deserve?
Where are you prioritising external approval over internal truth?
What beliefs about money, success or self-worth feel limiting?
Release in this facet may involve letting go of comparison, outdated standards or the need to prove yourself.
Worth is not something to earn. It is something to recognise.
Clearing limiting beliefs creates space for healthier boundaries and more confident decisions.
Renew
With greater clarity, you can begin to strengthen what aligns.
Which values feel essential to your current season of life?
How can you honour them more consistently?
What environments support your sense of worth?
Renewal may involve redefining priorities, setting firmer boundaries or investing time and energy into what genuinely matters.
Choose one value you want to embody more fully. Then identify one practical way to express it.
Small reinforcement builds lasting integrity.
Ritual
Alignment is built through repeated action.
Select one behaviour this week that directly reflects your values.
You might:
โข Say no to something that conflicts with your priorities
โข Allocate time to something you believe in
โข Adjust your spending to reflect what you truly value
โข Speak up when something feels misaligned
The ritual does not need to be dramatic. It simply needs to be deliberate.
Each aligned action strengthens your relationship with your own worth.
Review
After implementing your chosen action, pause.
Did you feel empowered or uncomfortable?
Did clarity increase?
Did any fears surface?
What did this reveal about your current sense of worth?
Values evolve as we grow. Regularly revisiting the 5R framework ensures that your external life reflects your internal truth.
Honouring your values and worth is not about perfection. It is about integrity.
